While flagging off the outreach, the NSHA Speaker commended Hon. Solomon Akwashiki for coming up with such initiative, saying the people of Lafia Central Constituency did not make a mistake by electing Hon. Akwashiki to represent them.

He urged the people of Lafia Central Constituency to continue supporting their representative, expressing confidence in Akwashiki’s ability to achieve even greater milestones beyond 2027.

The five-day medical outreach, organized under the Solomon Akwashiki Foundation, is designed to deliver critical healthcare services, including surgeries, eye consultations, provision of eyeglasses, health education, and free distribution of medications. The initiative reflects Hon. Akwashiki’s commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of his constituents, particularly those who lack access to affordable medical services.
Dr. Obele Ablaku, the lead medical doctor overseeing the outreach, highlighted the scope of the program, noting that it targets over 3,000 patients. “This initiative covers a wide range of services, including minor surgeries, eye care, general consultations, and the provision of essential drugs. We encourage residents with health challenges to take advantage of this opportunity to address their medical needs.”
Dr. Obele also disclosed that the medical team comprises specialists and healthcare professionals from across Nasarawa State, ensuring high-quality care for beneficiaries.

In his remarks, Hon. Solomon Akwashiki explained that the outreach is part of his deliberate strategy to bring relief to individuals facing health challenges in his constituency. “My goal is to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every doorstep in Lafia Central. Through the Solomon Akwashiki Foundation, we are creating a platform to attract interventions from State, federal, and international partners to improve the lives of our people,” he said.
He added that the foundation would serve as a sustainable vehicle for securing additional resources and support for community development projects.
Beneficiaries of the outreach expressed gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a lifeline for many who cannot afford medical treatment.
Stakeholders, including community leaders and representatives of civil society organizations, also commended Hon. Akwashiki for his consistent efforts to uplift his constituents.
