We’re Making Efforts To Return Eggon People To Assakio – Gov Sule

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has disclosed that his government is making plans to return Eggon people that have been displaced back to their homes in Assakio.

He stated this when Eggon people from the old Lafia Division – now known as Nasarawa South Senatorial District – paid him a visit at Government House, Shendam Road Lafia. The group was led by Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu.

According to the Governor, it has always been of paramount importance to his government to see citizens of Nasarawa State living in peace and harmony with one another.

He said one of his desires is to see people displaced by crises that have plagued the State in the past, return to their ancestral lands. He specifically mentioned Eggon people from Assakio and the people of Bassa who have been displaced and now stay in Toto.

He appreciated the people of Nasarawa State for their efforts to remain in peace and urged them to resist anyone who will want to bring any form of division especially during the season of politics.

Earlier on during his address, leader of the group and former Member representing Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency, Hon Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu said the group was at the Government House to appreciate the Governor for all he has done for Eggon people especially those from the southern senatorial district of the State.

Some of the things mentioned by Dr. Kigbu include political appointments and initiation and completion of various projects that have positive bearings on the lives of the people.

He said the Eggon people are happy with Governor Sule and are eager to repay his good deeds with block votes come 2023.
