We Can Rescue Abducted Kankara Students – Group
A group known as Transparency Advocacy Centre (TAC) have said they are capable of rescuing the abducted students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara.
Speaking with journalists in Katsina yesterday (December 13, 2020), the National Coordinator of the group, Shehu Yandaki called on the Katsina State government to immediately implement the community policing scheme that would launch the official engagement of local vigilantes group know as “Yansakai” to rescue the remaining 333 missing students of GSS Kankara.
Shehu Yandaki expressed the belief that 1,000 personnel of the group armed with locally made guns will be able to rescue the school boys as well as help in strengthening the security of the state.
He explained, “we expect that the Federal Government will do something to emancipate the GSS Kankara students from the captivity of armed bandits.
“The TAC is also calling for the immediate implementation of community policing. This involves arming our local vigilantes popularly known as ‘Yansakai’ with locally made gun called ‘Jahila’.
“We believe that 1,000 personnel of the vigilante group armed with Jahila will be able to secure the Kankara LGA.”
The group further called on transitional blacksmith to manufacture Jahila in large quantity for the take up of vigilantes in the State, adding that government should also reform and build the capacity of their traditional rulers in order to enhance intelligence gathering of information as they pray for the children release.
