Repatriate Bandits To Zamfara, Katsina States

The Authority of Wamba Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, in collaboration with the leadership of Miyetti Allah, Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria Nasarawa State Chapter has repatriated suspected bandits from Zamfara and Katsina back to their States.

In a statement issued by Mr Iliya Audu, the Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Information, Nasarawa State, the Council Chairman Hon. Abubakar Abas confirmed this to news men at the scene of the evacuation of the Bandits on Monday (25/01/2021) in Wamba.

According to the Council boss, the bandits, who were loaded with cows and motorcycles, arrived the area at midnight, saying, an investigation by the council revealed that, the Fulani were armed bandits from Zamfara State.

Alh. Abas called on the people of the area to be vigilant and report any strange people to the authority concerned to avoid breach of peace being enjoyed in the area.

On his part, Chairman Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Chapter, Alh. Mohammed Hussaini also confirmed that the suspected bandits were the ones destroying Zamfara State and revealed that, members of his union have resolved not to accommodate any Fulani person from Zamfara, Katsina, among other States in the northern part of the country to avoid any criminal act in the State.

Meanwhile, a high-powered Fulani delegation of Miyeti Allah Kautol Hore from Wamba, Nassarawa Eggon and Akwanga Local Government Areas on Monday (25/01/2021) paid a solidarity cum appreciation visit to the Paramount Ruler of Mada, and President, Akwanga LGA Traditional Council, HRH Mr Samson Gamu Yare, Chun Mada III in his Palace with other Traditional Rulers – HRH Alh Usman Umbugadu, Aren Akun, HRH Alh Yusuf Amwe, Chun Ngah, HRH Mr Makeri, Aren Eggon Erro and the Sarkin Gudi, HRH Alh Sule Bawa in attendance.

The head of the delegation, who is the Chairman of the Association, said they were at palace to appreciate the monarchs over their determination to entrench peaceful coexistence between the herders and farmers and pledged their commitment towards achieving lasting peace.

The Paramount Ruler charged them to be good Ambassadors of their host communities and report any suspicious movements to the nearest appropriate authorities.

He lamented the constant influx of young nomads without families who engage in large scale destruction of crops aside activities of kidnapping, cattle rustling, arm robbery, rape and arson that most Fulani are being fingered.

The Chun Mada posited that most communities are charged to be on red alert and enjoined not to accommodate any unknown or strange nomads in view of the current security situation worsened by overstretched services.
As such, he said, it became expedient on all to be vigilant and ensure the safety of the environment.

The delegation then assured the Royal Fathers of their maximum cooperation and will not pay lip service to their commitments.
