VP Osinbajo Presides Over FEC Meeting With Buhari In Saudi Arabia On Lesser Hajj
Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is currently presiding over the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting holding at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He presides over the meeting in the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who is away at Madinah, Saudi Arabia to observe Umrah (lesser hajj).
President Buhari’s trip to Saudi Arabia is also for an eight-day state visit which began on Tuesday (April 11, 2023).
Wednesday’s (April 12, 2023) FEC meeting also has in attendance, the President’s Chief of Staff Prof. Ibrahim Gambari and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Mr. Boss Mustapha.
Also in attendance are Ministers and presidential aides.
At the commencement of the meeting, members of the FEC honoured a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Bola Ajibola with a moment of silence.
Ajibola who died on Sunday April 9, 2023 at the age of 89, was also a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association from 1984 to 1985, former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and erstwhile judge at the International Court of Justice at The Hague.
