Umaisha Community Jubilates As Governor Sule Commissions Automated Flood Early Warning Equipment
The entire Umaisha community was in jubilation as Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule on Wednesday (May 19, 2021) commissioned an automatic flood early warning equipment in their community.
Umaisha community located by bank of River Benue in Toto Local Government Area of Nassarawa State has over the years, seen more than its fair share of flood disasters. This has cost the community many lives and valuable properties.

While performing the commissioning, Engineer Abdullahi Sule said his administration was fully aware of the plight of residents of Umaisha community especially during the rainy season and that was why it was not a difficult decision to commit huge resources into acquiring and installing the early warning equipment.
The Governor then urged the people of Umaisha to take possession of the equipment and guard it jealously from vandals so that they can continue to reap the benefits for many years to come.

The commissioning of the flood early warning equipment was part of activities to mark the second anniversary of the Abdullahi Sule administration.
Earlier on when the Governor was at the palace of the Ohimegye Opanda, His Royal Highness Alhaji Usman Abdullahi appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for honouring the people of Umaisha by choosing to kick-start his State-wide tour in their community.

He also thanked the Governor for bringing developmental projects to his domain as well as efforts towards restoring peace.
He however appealed for more from the government, specifically deployment of more troops to the area and the rehabilitation of Toto-Umaisha road which he said is in a dilapidated state.
He then called on all the people of his chiefdom to continue to support the government and remain peaceful so as to enjoy even more from the current government.
