Tinubu’s Approval For Take-off Of FULafia Teaching Hospital Timely – Ambassador Omaku
Ambassador Henry John Omaku has described as timely, the approval by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the take-off of the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) Lafia by the federal government to serve as the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) Teaching Hospital.
The immediate past Nigeria’s Ambassador to Sierra Leone said that the upgrade of the specialist hospital is another big project that will have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
Speaking on the hardship being experienced by the people, Ambassador Omaku said: “The government of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is only a year old, and we need to exercise more patience and allow the government to actualize its vision. The President has already demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of the citizens by increasing the minimum wage after engaging in constructive dialogue with the Nigeria Labour Congress. This is without doubt, a significant achievement, and a testament to his willingness to listen and work collaboratively.”
Ambassador Henry John Omaku, who holds the title of (Giwan Doma) said, the government has embarked on the Social Welfare Intervention Schemes like the cash transfer, consumer credit scheme, and N110 billion naira National Youth Investment Fund amongst others to reduce the economic hardships faced by Nigerians.
He also said that the Tinubu-led administration has made it possible for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access loans and complete their university education. This he described as a groundbreaking initiative, and unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.
The diplomat also commended the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr Abdullahi Sule, for the construction of overhead bridge and underpass in Lafia, the building of an ultramodern state secretariat, dualization of Shendam Road, and construction of intra city roads thereby giving the state capital a facelift. According to him, these are legacy projects that generations to come will appreciate.
Ambassador Omaku also had words of commendation for Honourable Abubakar Nalaraba, Member of House of Representatives, representing Awe, Doma and Keana Federal Constituency, who is also the Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, for the award for the construction of Lafia- Doma-Rafin Gabas, Nasarawa-Orozo, Karshi-FCT Road worth 5.2 Billion Naira in the 2024 Supplementary Budget.
Amb Omaku praised the traditional ruler of Doma, the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah Onawo for his tireless role in seeing to the realization of this all important project.
