SWAN and Nasarawa State Football Association Strengthen Ties
The Nasarawa State Football Association received a courtesy visit from the SWAN Chairman and other members of the Sports Writers fraternity in Nasarawa State, aimed at strengthening their relationship. The visit was a significant gesture, given the strong bond between the two organizations. The SWAN Nasarawa State Chapter has long admired the state FA’s dedication to grassroots football development.
The promotion of FC Basira to the Nigeria National League (NNL) was a notable achievement, and SWAN congratulated the State Chairman on this success. SWAN also urged the FA to collaborate with local government FAs to support grassroots sports, recognizing the importance of joint efforts in developing football in the state.
The SWAN board expressed interest in partnering with the FA for SWAN week, seeking to leverage the FA’s expertise to promote their activities. Additionally, they requested a kind of partnership with the supporters club to amplify their reach. SWAN members also discussed the need for jerseys, organizing clinics in covering a range of sporting events beyond football, and seeking the FA Chairman’s assistance in these areas.
The Chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association, Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima, warmly welcomed the SWAN members and congratulated the new SWAN Chairman and his EXCO on their election victory. He appreciated the congratulatory messages for the promotion of Nasarawa United and FC Basira, acknowledging the shared passion for football development.
Galadima pledged support for SWAN week, promising to distribute the promised jerseys and extend SWAN’s efforts to local FAs in the state. The Secretary of the Nasarawa State Football Association, also congratulated the new SWAN Chairman who had worked closely with the FA for years, on his victory, marking a new chapter in their partnership.
