Senator Solomon Ewuga Expresses Gratitude To President Bola Ahmed Tinubu For Approving The Conversion Of DASH To FULafia Teaching Hospital
A former Deputy Governor and major stakeholder in Nasarawa State, Senator Solomon Ewuga has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the conversion of the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) in Lafia to the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) Teaching Hospital.
In a statement personally signed by the elder statesman who was also one-time Minister and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he described the takeover of DASH as a “step forward in the development of our state’s healthcare and educational sectors.”
The statement further reads: “The conversion of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital into a federal teaching hospital will not only serve as a pivotal platform for the training of medical and allied sciences students but will also enhance the quality of healthcare delivery available to our people. This initiative will further solidify Lafia’s status as a center of excellence in medical education and service provision, benefiting generations to come.
“President Tinubu’s commitment to improving the welfare and healthcare security of Nigerians is evident through this action, and I commend his administration’s unwavering dedication to driving development in the health sector across the nation. This decision reflects the President’s understanding of the critical need for advanced healthcare infrastructure and education in Nasarawa State and beyond.
“I also extend my appreciation to the Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. A. A. Sule, for his proactive role in advocating for this conversion, recognizing the profound impact it will have on our communities.
“Once again, I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and for prioritizing the needs of the people of Nasarawa State.”
Recall that President Tinubu through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, had on Wednesday (August 21, 2024), announced his approval for the conversion of the specialist hospital in Lafia to a Teaching Hospital.
According to the statement, the conversion of the health facility to a federal teaching hospital will not only enhance the training of students in medical and allied sciences but also boost healthcare delivery in the State.
It also states that President Bola Tinubu remains committed to ensuring the social welfare and healthcare security of Nigerians and will aggressively sustain his administration’s investment drive and efforts in the sector.
