Ronaldo, Mbappe, van Dijk, others make Ballon d’Or Shortlist
5-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo has made it to the Ballon d’Or 30-man shortlist.
The list which has been released so far is expectedly dominated by 2019 Champions League winners, Liverpool stars.
Stars who made it to the list include Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk, Roberto Firmino, shot-stopper Alisson Becker, Georginio Wijnaldum and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Others who have made it to the list are Manchester City stars Sergio Aguero and Bernado Silva, Champions League runners-up Hugo Lloris and Heung-Min Son from Tottenham.
Still in the list are Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and 2018 World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe.
There was still space for Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona star Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Frankie De Jong, Ajax stars Dusan Tadic and Donny van de Beek as well as Real Madrid’s Kareem Benzema and Matthijs de Ligt of Juventus.
England Women internationals Ellen White and Lucy Bronze were named on the 20-woman shortlist for the Women’s Ballon d’Or alongside USA’s Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe amongst others.
