Rape: Party Chairman Caught Defiling Two Girls In Nasarawa
A grassroot politician (names witheld) has been caught in the act of defiling two girls in his house in Obi Local Government of Nasarawa State.
A witness by name Oyikobi Ambassador said the suspect is the chairman of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Obi Ward in the area.
He said that the girls are aged 12 and 13 years respectively.
Another source who preferred to remain anonymous said that the accused lured the girls when they entered his house to fetch water in the well.
It is also being alleged that this is not the first time that he was caught in this act.
Chairman of Obi Local Government, Mohammad Oyimoga Oyigye confirmed the incident and said that he saved the suspect from being lynched by angry youth and handed him over to the Police.
The LG Chairman also revealed that the accused has been transferred to Lafia to forestall any break down of law and order in the area.
In his reaction, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe said, “I have directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia for a discreet investigation after which the suspect will be charged to court.
“The Police under my watch want to warn would-be rapists to have a rethink or face the wrath of the Law.
“I am assuring the public of the Police command’s commitment to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting no matter how highly placed” He said.
