Prof D M Enna Passes On
Death has occurred of a renowned Professor of Theatre Arts, Dauda Musa Enna, one time Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos.
His death occurred on Monday April 13, 2020 at his residence while taking a walk where he slumped. When he was rushed to the hospital, he was confirmed dead.
Until his death, he was on sabbatical at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) from the Federal University, Lafia where he was the Dean of Postgraduates Studies.
A Professor of Theatre Arts, Prof Enna was born at Lizzin Keffi, Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area on October 17th, 1962 and attended several institutions of learning including Army Children School, Otukpo from 1969 from 1975 where he obtained First School Leaving Certificate, Government Secondary School, Pankshin from 1976 to 1981 where he obtained School Certificate and General Certificate of Education ‘O’ Level and the University of Jos from 1981 to 1995 where he obtained his Bachelor, Masters and PhD degrees all in Theatres Arts.
After his compulsory national service (NYSC) 1985 -1986 at the University of Benin, Benin City as Graduate Assistant, he secured employment with the University of Jos as Graduate Assistant, which he served from 1987 to 1989 and rose through the ranks as Assistant Lecturer (1989 -1992); Lecturer 11(1992 -1995); Lecturer 1 (1995 -1999); Senior Lecturer (1999 – 2002); Reader (2002 – 2005); Acing Director, Division of General Studies (2000 – 2005); and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Nov 2005 – Nov 2010).
He then proceeded on Sabbatical to the National Open University of Nigeria from 2010 to 2011 where he headed the Lafia Station of the University.
He secured employment with the Federal University of Lafia where he was the Dean of Postgraduate Studies.
Professor D M Enna held several positions of responsibilities at the University and community circles.
From March 1997 to August 1998, Prof Enna served as Special Assistant/Principal Private Secretary to the Military Administrator of Nasarawa State, Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim,
He was Chairman, Editorial Board, Eggonnews Community Newspaper, from 1999 to 2007 and the Chairman, Governing Board, Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ Theological Seminary, Fadan Ayu, Kaduna State. 2012 – till his demise.
He also held the revered traditional title of Aren Engla ba Eggon.
Professor Dauda Musa Enna, an academic ICON has returned home. May your soul rest in perfect peace with the Lord. Rest on daddy.
