Over 150 Students Enjoy Free JAMB UTME Registration In Nassarawa Eggon East

Over 150 students from Nassarawa Eggon East of Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area are set to enjoy free registration for the 2022 JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Addressing the beneficiaries at the Nassarawa Eggon youth centre where their data was captured, Hon. Jonathan Marcus who is also an aspirant for the seat in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Nassarawa Eggon East Constituency, appealed to the beneficiaries to justify the huge resources that is being spent to register them by studying hard and getting good grades in the examination.

He said if they do so, it will encourage him to do even more next time.

He prayed that God will provide resources so that he can inturn give scholarship to those who will gain admission into tertiary institutions.

On the reason behind initiating the program, Hon. Jonathan Marcus had this to say: “We have considered it necessary to educate our society that is why we came up with this JAMB scholarship.

“I discovered that if you educate the society, you make things equal for everyone in the society. When you educate the society, you reduce crime. When you educate the society, you are also creating room for tremendous development.”

In the scholarship scheme, over 150 students from the seven electoral wards in Nassarawa Eggon East Constituency are to enjoy free JAMB UTME registration.

According to figures provided by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, registration for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is expected to cost each applicant at least N4,700.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke to Eggonnews, Joy Asheson Musa was full of appreciation for Hon. Jonathan Marcus and prayer that God should grant him all his heart’s desires.

Another beneficiary, Alaku Peter promised that he will ensure he studies hard so that the money spent in registering him for the exam will not be counted as a waste at the end of the day.
