One-Year Anniversary Celebration: Governor Sule To Commission, Inspect, Flag-off Projects Across The State

Nasarawa State Governor, His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule is set to commission, inspect and flag-off projects that will touch the lives of citizens across the state.

This will form part of the activities that have been designed to celebrate the first anniversary of the Governor Sule administration.

This was revealed by the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe during a press briefing to kick-start the anniversary celebrations.

The briefing held at the conference hall of the Nasarawa State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Shendam Road, Lafia.

The anniversary celebration, which will last for a week, will be a line-up of activities which in addition to the commissioning, inspection and flagging off of projects, will include special Juma’at prayers at the various mosques in the State today (Friday May 22, 2020).

There will also be interdenominational service which will be organized in collaboration with the Nasarawa State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Sunday 24th May 2020.

According to Dr Akabe, the Governor will tour all the three senatorial zones in the State in the course of the week-long celebration to commission completed projects, inspect ongoing projects and flag-off some projects.

Among projects to be commissioned is the new Presidential Lodge Complex adjacent the Nasarawa State Government House in Lafia. This is scheduled for Monday 25th May 2020.

Also, the Governor is slated to inspect ongoing work at the Banquet Hall in the Government House Lafia as well as the Lafia Institute of Technical Education (LITE) project all on the same Monday 25th May 2020.

At the Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone, the Governor will flag-off construction of the Mararraba-Udege road as well as the construction of the Keffi Square/Neighborhood Market.

He will also inspect the ongoing renovation at the Magaji Dan-Yamusa NYSC Orientation Camp and the work at the Karu Modern Bus Terminal.

In the Northern Senatorial Zone, the Governor will inspect the current work at the Kagbu-Wana feeder road and the Sisinbaki-Kwara road.

Apart from the commissioning, inspection and flag-off of projects, the various Commissioners are also scheduled to be on various broadcast media platforms in the State for a media chat between Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th May 2020.

The media chat with the commissioners, according to the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, is going to be interactive in nature and will afford members of the public opportunity to ask the commissioners questions about what the government has done, is doing or will do as it concerns their various offices.

On Thursday 28th May 2020, Governor Abdullahi Sule will a have media chat at the Government House, Lafia and also have an interaction with People Living With Disabilities at the Government House.

In the evening of Thursday 28th May 2020, there will be a gala night at the Ta’al Conference Hotel along Jos Road, Lafia.

On Friday 29th May 2020, which is the final day of the celebrations, there will be a state broadcast by His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State. This will be followed by an Education Summit.

The Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe stated that the anniversary celebration is going to be lowkey and appealed to citizens of the State to do their celebrations while adhering strictly to the protocols and regulations in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
