NSUK VC Cup: Social Sciences Faculty Emerges Champions
It was a festival of football at the mini stadium of the Nasarawa State University of Agriculture (NSUK) where the finals of the 16th edition of the Vice Chancellor’s cup took place.
Faculty of Agriculture who made their first appearance in the finals had all to play for against the defending Champions, Faculty of Social Sciences as both sides impressed right from the blast of the whistle.
With the Vice Chancellor, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed on ground to witness the finals, Social Sciences got to a fine start after Vincent beat his marker to slot home with a clinical first touch finish.
The goal however brought the best out of Agric Boys as they came all out in search of an equalizer but the Social Sciences boys where solid enough to repel the advances of the farmers.
Goal scorer, Vincent should have buried the game late on but his two missed chances eventually had no effect as his early goal was enough to send all Social Sciences students into celebration as they retained their cup.
Despite losing the finals, Faculty of Agriculture’s Imran Mohammed was however voted the player of the tournament after his fine display for his team won him more admirers both within and outside the school.
