NSCDC Nasarawa Command Deploys Over 915 Personnel For Christmas and New Year

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Muhammad Mahmoud Gidado Fari fsi, fsfs, PhD has assured the residents of the State of a peaceful Christmas and New year celebration.

To this end, the Commandant has deployed over 915 personnel across the State.

In a statement issued by Muhammad Suraju Idris, the Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, Commandant stated that the Officers and men would be stationed at the worship centres, recreational centers, critical Infrastructural sites and relaxation spots to forestall any break down of law and order.

He added that enough personnel have been posted to all Churches to control the crowd as one of the mandate of the Corps enshrined in section 3 (1) (t) 2003 Act of the Corps which said “the Corps shall assist in crowd and traffic control during any period of emergency.”

He charged the Christian faithfuls to be law abiding while in the spirit of celebration adding that they should continue to imbibe the teaching of Jesus Christ and report any suspicious movement to the nearest security agency.

Commandant Fari used the medium to felicitate with the Christian brothers and sisters on the celebration of the season.

Commandant Fari called on Christian faithful to use the period to pray to God to bring to an end the global pandemic ravaging the world, Coronavirus aka COVID-19.

He urged the public to continue to observe COVID- 19 protocol such as wearing of face mask, maintaining social distances, washing of hands up to the elbow and use of hand sanitizers to mitigate the spread of scourge.
