The Nigerian football community is in mourning following the sudden and unexpected death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, a renowned politician, oil mogul, and owner of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, the Nnewi-based club that made history by winning the 2016 Federation Cup, defeating Nasarawa United in Lagos.Senator Ubah’s contributions to Nigerian football will be deeply remembered, particularly his role in FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s success. Beyond football, he was a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, having recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) with ambitions to contest the Anambra State governorship election.
