New Year: Aren Koron Kuje Addresses Community Leaders, Traditional Titleholders On Security, Peaceful Co-Existence, Economy

To mark the 2022 New Year day, the paramount ruler of Koron Kuje Chiefdom, Aren Koron Kuje, His Royal Highness Joseph Sunday Namo (JP) has addressed community leaders and traditional titleholders in his chiefdom.

Addressing the community leaders consisting of district heads, ward heads and traditional titleholders at the RCM Pilot Primary School, Barkin Abdullahi (B.A.D) Lafia LGA, the Aren Koron Kuje congratulated them for successfully coming into the new year.

He thanked God for sustaining them throughout the year 2021 and prayed that 2022 will be even better.

The monarch then said that he thought it wise to assemble community leaders and traditional titleholders so that he can speak to them on certain issues which he said could influence the fortunes of the Koron Kuje Chiefdom in 2022.

In his words: “The purpose of my asking you to come down here is for us to meet ourselves and wish ourselves the best of 2022.

“To also as a leader, give us some useful pieces of advice that will be able to help us.”

The first issue addressed by the Aren Koron Kuje was security. He charged every district head and ward head to be vigilant and take note of every suspicious person within their domain and report same to the appropriate security authorities.

Speaking about peaceful coexistence, he said: “Majority of us in this Koron Kuje Chiefdom are farmers. I want to appeal that we stay peacefully with the Fulani. We don’t want them to encroach into our farmlands and we don’t also want you to look for trouble. Don’t ever take the law into your hands.”

The Aren Koron Kuje also touched on the economy of the people. He advised that his subjects should not be carried away by the high prices of foodstuff and sell of all their grains. According to him, selling off all their foodstuff and not storing any means that they will face serious hunger before the next harvest.

The monarch also spoke on other issues such as politics.

Earlier on some of the titleholders who spoke, wished the Aren Koron Kuje and all his subjects, a very prosperous 2022.

One of the persons who spoke was the Jakadiyan Koron Kuje, Hajiya Maryam Buba who called on the people of Koron Kuje Chiefdom especially the youths to eschew laziness and unhealthy competition and engage in ventures that will result in their personal growth and the progress of the community.

On his part, the Garkuwan Koron Kuje, Honourable David Ajege spoke about the need for the people of Koron Kuje Chiefdom to show utmost respect to their paramount ruler.

According to him, the Aren Koron Kuje is the only one that they have and if his own subjects will not show him utmost respect and absolute loyalty, it means there is no need for the traditional stool to even exist.

Also present at the event was the Deputy Chairman of Lafia Local Government, Hon. Comfort Attah and the Councillor representing Keffin Wambai Ward, Hon. Festus Attah.

They both brought their New Year greetings while wishing everyone a prosperous 2022.
