New NSCDC Boss In Nasarawa Charts Fresh Course With Discipline And Professionalism

The newly deployed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Nasarawa State, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, has hit the ground running with a clear message to his officers that discipline, professionalism, and accountability will define his leadership.

New Nasarawa NSCDC Boss Commandant Umoru

At his maiden meeting with Area Commanders and Divisional Officers which held on Tuesday (September 23, 2025) at the Command headquarters in Lafia, Commandant Umoru laid out what he called the three cardinal points of his administration namely Punctuality, Neatness, and Permission.

According to him, punctuality is the true mark of commitment, neatness reflects the dignity of the Corps as a paramilitary outfit, while seeking permission before taking actions speaks to accountability and respect for authority.

“NSCDC is known for discipline and integrity,” the Commandant told his officers. “Every officer must align with this vision by being punctual to duty, maintaining neatness in appearance and environment, and ensuring due permission is sought before taking official actions. These three cardinal points are the pillars of my administration.”

Beyond discipline, Commandant Umoru promised to prioritize welfare, capacity building, and operational efficiency, noting that officers can only deliver effectively if they are well motivated and trained. He urged them to lead by example in their formations and to win the trust of the public through professionalism.

The interactive session also gave officers the chance to share their concerns, with the Commandant assuring them of his open-door policy. “My leadership will be accessible. Together, we will make the Nasarawa State Command stronger and more responsive,” he added.

With his firm but reassuring tone, the new Commandant’s message set the tone for what many expect will be a new chapter for the NSCDC in Nasarawa State.
