Nasarawa State’s Football Renaissance, A Credit To Governor Sule’s Leadership – Nasarawa FA Chairman

Nasarawa State Football Association Chairman, Salisu Usman Galadima, has attributed the rapid growth of football in the State to the unwavering support of the Governor Engr. Abdullahi A Sule.

Galadima made this known in a chat with sports journalists in Enugu at the ongoing NNL Super 8.

He cited the examples of Nasarawa United and FC Basira, who have achieved significant milestones in recent times. Nasarawa United is close to returning to the Nigeria Premier Football League after just a season in the lower league, while FC Basira has qualified for the Nigeria National League after over five seasons in the Nigeria Nationwide League cadre.

Galadima expressed his delight at the giant strides being witnessed in football in Nasarawa State, crediting Governor Sule for providing the enabling environment for sports, especially football, to thrive in the state. He was thrilled to see FC Basira secure an NNL ticket and Nasarawa United defeat Sokoto United 2-1 in their match.

The Nasarawa FA Chair predicted a good performance for Basira FC in the NNL next season, assuring that with the continued support of Governor Sule, the team would be among the eight competing teams in the next season’s NNL Super Eight. He expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to excel, citing the support of the government and the people of Nasarawa State.

Galadima also highlighted the efforts of the Nasarawa FA in tapping talents at the grassroots level, citing the recently completed Nasarawa State Under 13 Competition. He revealed that plans are underway to host the Under 15 and 17 competitions, demonstrating the association’s commitment to developing football in the State.

The Chairman praised Governor Sule’s sports-loving approach, which has earned Nasarawa State the nickname “Home of Football.”

He expressed his gratitude for the Governor’s support, which has enabled the State’s teams to excel in various competitions.

Galadima concluded by reiterating his appreciation for Governor Sule’s leadership, which has transformed football in Nasarawa State. He expressed his optimism for the future, assuring that with continued support, the State’s teams would achieve even greater heights in Nigerian football.
