Nasarawa State Government Launch Health Insurance Scheme

The Nasarawa State Government has launched a new health policy.
While performing the launch, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule said the new policy is a measure by his administration aimed at providing quality and affordable basic healthcare for the people of Nasarawa State.
Governor Abdullahi Sule while reaffirming the commitment of his administration towards attaining universal health coverage as measures have been adopted towards meeting the basic health needs of the people, commended the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency and other stakeholders in the health sector for the feat achieved so far.
He lauded the state health insurance agency for uplifting the health service in the state, saying it is in consonance with his administration’s priority towards guaranteed healthcare as encapsulated in the 2020 budget.
Noting the efficacy of the health insurance scheme to the people of the state, Governor Abdullahi Sule was optimistic that a healthy society will translate into a viable economy, hence funds have also been allocated to complement the commencement of basic health provision funds being rolled out by the federal government.
State Commissioner of health, Pharmacist Ahmad Baba Yahaya explained that the event is calculated at ensuring that health needs of the people is given impetus, just as the Executive Secretary of Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme, Doctor Gaza Gwamna assured that the launching of the health insurance agency means that individuals that are captured in the scheme would enjoy quality and affordable healthcare services in the state.
Coinciding with universal health coverage day, the launch of the scheme in Nasarawa state featured the biometric data capturing of Governor Abdullahi Sule and his deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe.
