The Chairman of Nasarawa State Football Association, Salisu Usman Galadima, has charged the leadership of the association in Lafia Local Government Area to prioritize grassroots sports development in their region. He made this call when he received the newly elected Chairman of the Lafia FA Council, Malam Haruna Abdullahi, at the Lafia City Stadium.

The Lafia FA Council had recently been plagued by a crisis that led to the impeachment of its former Chairman, Ibrahim Aliyu Uba, by the Board Members. Consequently, the Board Members elected Malam Haruna Abdullahi as their new Chairman, with Mallam Suleiman S. Bala serving as his vice.

During the meeting, Salisu Usman Galadima congratulated the new Chairman and urged him to adopt an inclusive approach in his leadership. “Embrace everyone in the discharge of your duties,” he advised. The State FA Chairman also emphasized the importance of collaboration with other Local Government FA Chairmen to achieve success. “Liaise with other chairmen to learn how to navigate your new role. That’s how we achieve success,” he added.

Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta, the State Vice Chairman of FA, also offered words of wisdom, encouraging the new Chairman to embrace patience and operate an open-door administration. In his response, the new Chairman of the Lafia FA Council, Mallam Haruna Abdullahi, expressed gratitude to the State FA Chairman and his team, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him.

The meeting was attended by Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima (FA Chairman), Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Shigarfata (Vice Chairman), Mz Blessing David (Secretary), and Turaki Musa (Board Member LAFA).
