Nasarawa Speaker Distributes Palliatives To Constituents In The Spirit Of Easter, Ramadan
The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau has distributed 350 bags of rice and 350 bags of millet with N2million cash as palliatives to the people of Kokona LGA.
The Speaker made the distribution today (Monday April 1, 2024) in his House in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Flagging off the distribution himself, the Speaker said that the gesture was his modest effort to bring succour to the lives of the people of the area especially during the Easter celebration which coincides with the month of Ramadan.
He said: “Today, I have distributed 350 bags of rice and 350 bags of millet and N2million cash to the people of Kokona LGA.
“I have allocated 35 bags of rice and 35 bags of millet with N150,000 to each of the 6 wards of my constituency, Kokona West.
“And I have also allocated 10 bags of rice and 10 bags of millet with N50,000 to each of the 5 wards of Kokona East constituency, my younger brother, Hon Ogazi’s constituency in the spirit of unity and togetherness.
“I have also allocated rice, millet as well as money to APC party executives, PDP, SDP among other political parties, security agents, FOMWAN among others,” he said.
Rt. Hon Jatau pledged to continue to give jobs, empower the people of Kokona LGA as well as provide the much needed dividends of democracy to the people of the area.
“I have done it before, I am doing it today and by God’s grace, I will continue to provide food stuffs and other dividends of democracy to my constituents and Kokona LGA at large.
“What I am doing is to improve on the standard of living of the people of Kokona LGA in the spirit of Easter and Sallah” he said.
Rt. Hon. Jatau advised the beneficiaries not to sell the rice and the millet but to use them in order to better their standard of living and that of their family members.
He appreciated the people of Kokona West for electing him to the House which made it possible for him to be elected as Speaker of the State legislature.
“I also want to appreciate His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his developmental efforts in the State.
“He has started and will construct more roads and other infrastructure in Kokona LGA and the State at large,” he said.
He called on the people of his constituency and the State at large to continue to pray and support Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.
Jatau also called on the people of his constituency and the State to live in unity and peace, show love and embrace forgiveness for the overall development of the State.
On Local Government election, he urged the people of Kokona LGA to remain calm and wait for the decision of the stakeholders of the area.
Also speaking, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, DG Hon Danladi Jatau Campaign Organization and Mr Tere Bado, APC Chairman, Kokona LGA appreciated the Speaker for the gesture.
They said that Rt. Hon. Jatau was a God-sent to Kokona Local Government Area.
They also called on the people of Kokona LGA to continue to support the Speaker and Gov. Sule to succeed.
Some of the beneficiaries, appreciated the Speaker for the gestured and prayed God to bless him abundantly and assured him of their loyalty and support at all times.
