Nasarawa Labour Tells Workers To Shun Government Data Capture Exercise
The Nasarawa State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has told its members to shun the planned data capturing by the State Government for the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme.
This was contained in Bulletin No. 2, 2020 of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Nasarawa State chapter.
It says: “Following the radio announcements on DATA CAPTURING for the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Shceme, the State Executive Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (SEC) met today Monday 8th June, 2020 reviewed the process and resolved as follows:
1. Labour frowns at the unilateral decision as announced on radio without the involvement of Labour;
2. Labour’s earlier decision stands; that all issues surrounding Promotions, Annual Increments and Minimum Wage be addressed before commencement of any process on the Health Insurance Scheme.
“In the light of the above, the State Executive Council (SEC) directed that ALL WORKERS should refrain from the proposed DATA CAPTURING exercise, until our demands are met.”
In an earlier exclusive with Eggonnews, Nasarawa State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Yusuf Iya said workers in Nasarawa State prioritise the resolution of issues surrounding their promotion, annual increment and arrears over any other matter.
