Nasarawa Government Kick-Starts Activities To Mark Second Anniversary
The Nasarawa State Government has kick-started activities to mark the second anniversary of the Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule-led administration.
At a press briefing organized at the instance of the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Honourable Dogo Shammah, he announced that the State Government has designed programmes that are geared towards showcasing the achievements of the government under Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule.
Listing some of the achievements of the Governor, Honourable Dogo Shammah said there has been remarkable progress made in several sectors especially infrastructure and health.
He said: “As we all know, in just two years in office, His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule has brought joy and happiness to our people and even beyond. In two years, the administration of Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule in the State is celebrating many physical projects that were either initiated by it or completed by it; especially those left by previous administrations that are of immense value to our people.
“We are also celebrating the sustenance of peace and security of lives and property achieved through the dogged effort of His Excellency not only in the State but also in the entire North-Central geo-political zone of the country.
“Consequent upon this peace effort and other friendly economic measures, investors are already making the State their destination. For instance, the likes of Azman Group of Companies and Flour Mills Nigeria, are in our communities engaging in various agro-allied businesses.”
In the health sector, the information commissioner mentioned the completion and commissioning of the Infectious Disease Centre in Lafia, the renovation and equipping of some Primary Health Centres as well as the way and manner the government handled the COVID-19 pandemic in Nasarawa State as some of their achievements.
Honourable Dogo Shammah then went ahead to announce some of the activities that will be taking place to mark the anniversary.
Some of them include the presentation of brand new vehicles to first class traditional rulers in the State on Tuesday May 18 in Lafia as well as the commissioning of the Flood Early Warning System Equipment and a town hall meeting all in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Wednesday May 19.
There will be other commissioning and inspection of projects and engagements with the public and media at various locations in all senatorial zones of the State.
The activities will climax on Saturday May 29, 2021 with a statewide television/radio broadcast by the Governor, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule.
According to the Commissioner, the marking of the anniversary will also bring the people of Nasarawa State together and give even naysayers reasons to support the current administration of Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule.
