During a courtesy visit by the board members on Thursday in Lafia, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, praised the board for its dedication, unity, and leadership.

“Many had written you off, but your tireless efforts, backed by government support and prayers, paid off,” he said. “We have a policy to reward hard work. That’s why this administration is retaining the current board—we believe in your vision and teamwork.”

Continued Government Support

Hon. Yakubu announced that the state government would continue to support the club, including procuring new operational vehicles for better mobility and efficiency. He also reaffirmed that the welfare of the board, coaching staff, and players will be a top priority going forward.

He urged the management to begin scouting for new talents to bolster the squad for the upcoming season, stating that Governor Abdullahi Sule is fully committed to building a stronger team capable of securing a continental ticket.

“You’ve proven your capability. Now is the time to aim higher,” the Commissioner added.

Club Board Grateful

Responding, Club Chairman Solomon Babanjah expressed appreciation to the Ministry for its unwavering support throughout the challenging season. He said the vote of confidence was a strong endorsement of the board’s leadership and a source of motivation moving forward.

“The government’s support has been instrumental. It gives us the confidence to push further and build a more competitive team,” Babanjah noted.

The visit concluded with a vote of thanks by Board Member and Director of Media, Eche Amos, while the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Alhassan, led the delegation to the Commissioner’s office.

With this renewed backing, Nasarawa United heads into the new season with momentum, unity, and clear government support for greater success.
