Nasarawa Community Appeals To Gov. Sule To Rehabilitate Infrastructure

Wakama community in Nasarawa has appealed to Gov. Abdullahi Sule to rehabilitate major roads in the area.

This, according to the people, will boost socio-economic activities in their area.

Governor Sule Addressing The People

Mr Monday Nanza, a former Special Assistant to former Gov. Tanko Al-Makura, made the call on Tuesday when he led a delegation of the community on a courtesy visit to Gov. Sule in Lafia.

Nanza, who is also a former Administrator of Akun Development Area of the state, said that providing infrastructure in the area would not only boost socio-economic activities, but also assist to improve on the standard of living of the people.

“Your Excellency, we are here today to congratulate you over your victory in the 2019 election and for your sagacity in piloting the affairs of our dear state.

“We wish to acknowledge the efforts of the state government in making sure that it lives to its full responsibility of protecting lives and property.

“The attention your administration is paying to the issue of security is quite commendable, as we also subscribe to the fact that without peace there will be no development,” he said.

Hon Monday Nanza Making His Presentation

Nanza called on the governor to consider community members for appointments at both the state and federal levels.

“We appeal for the provision of additional step down transformers, poles and cables to link Wakama community.

“Construction and rehabilitation of Awogenshen and other roads and the fencing of some primary schools in Wakama community.

“We also want the creation of more village areas, districts and Wakama Chiefdom,” he added.

Nanza commended the Federal Government for the construction of OLA/ Wakama/ Tudun road.

“We wish to thank you over the role you played in ensuring the commencement of the construction of Ola-Wakama Tudu road,

He expressed appreciation the governor for the role he played in the establishment of the Mobile Police Training College at Ende Hills and the establishment of the  modern market in Nassarawa Eggon.

Nanza assured the governor of the community’s continued readiness to support him beyond 2023.

Also speaking, Alhaji Mohammed Muluku, member representing Nassarawa Eggon East Constituency at the state legislature assured the governor of his people’s readiness to support him beyond 2023.

Muluku has also assured the governor of his continued readiness to mobilise the people of Eggon to join hands with him in developing the state.

Responding, Gov. Sule expressed his appreciation to the community for the visit and has assured the people of his administration’s commitment to key into positive policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

He urged the people of Eggon to continue to live in unity, peace and to tolerate one another, irrespective of their affiliations.

The governor said that unity was the catalyst for development and hence the need for the people to key into it. (NAN)
