The Nasarawa Amazons have set their eyes on glory at the 2023/2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six competition scheduled to hold between May 16 to May 26, 2024 in Bayelsa State.
Chairperson of the Nasarawa Amazons, Hajiya Hussaina Suleiman Nagogo, disclosed this when along with the Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Jafaru Ango, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barr. Isaac Danladi, paid a visit to the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe in his office on Tuesday (May 14, 2024).
During their visit, they also presented customized replica jerseys and tracksuits of the Nasarawa Amazons to the Deputy Governor as a gesture of appreciation and recognition for the team’s achievements and contributions to the state’s sports development.
Nasarawa Amazons are no strangers to making headlines. With two championship titles under their belt in 2013 and 2017 and finishing as runners-up three times in 2006, 2007, and 2016, they are a force to be reckoned with in the Nigeria Women’s Football League. Their dedication and hard work have earned them a reputation that is second to none.
Going by what Hajiya Hussaina Suleiman Nagogo said, they are not done yet. In just a few days, the Nasarawa Amazons will be heading to Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to participate in the NWFL Super Six, after they finished top of their group in the regular 2023/24 season, so they are more than ready to take on the competition.
Exciting times lie ahead for Nasarawa Amazons as the fans cannot wait to see them in action.
