Miranda David Ombugadu Celebrates Valentine With Children In Orphanage, Hospital
Wife of the Nasarawa State gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Mrs. Miranda Asheazi David Ombugadu has celebrated the 2024 St. Valentine’s Day with children in orphanage homes and a hospital in Nasarawa State.
The celebration which took place on Monday February 12, 2024, saw Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu’s wife visit orphanage homes in Lafia, Akwanga and Karu. She also visited OLA Hospital in Akwanga.
Accompanied by the wife of her husband’s running mate in the last election, Hajiya Binta Yahaya Usman Ohinoyi and the Nasarawa State PDP Women Leader, Mrs. Stella Oboshi, Mrs. Ombugadu said she was moved by her instincts as a mother to show love to children especially the less privileged.
She said: “Our visit to orphanages and hospitals is because of the season we are in which is the season of love, Valentine. This is to spread love and kindness to the people around us.
“It is not only with the people we know but we should also extend this love to those we don’t know. So my heart goes out to the less privileged, the orphans and that is why I am here today to show love. As a mother, I believe these children also deserve part of my love.”
She assured that her gesture was not politically motivated as it has been part of the activities of her foundation the Miranda Care Foundation and she hopes to even do more in the coming months.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their joy were full of gratitude to Mrs. Miranda Asheazi Ombugadu for coming to their aid especially at a time when things have become very costly in the market.
Aisha Kwalmi, the founder of Nana Berry Orphanage Home that houses over 150 orphans in New Karu had this to say: “Honestly, I am overwhelmed. We are grateful. I don’t even know what to say. You know the children are looking at the foodstuff and everything and I am also eyeing it. May God bless you.
“At this period, if somebody brings one bag of rice to you, you know what it means not to talk of the amount of things I am seeing here. We are grateful. We cannot pay them for all these but we pray to the Almighty God to open doors for them, grant the desires of their hearts and bless them in every way.”
The other orphanage homes visited include the Gidan Bege Orphanage Home in Lafia, Habo Children Orphanage Home Lafia, Nasarawa State Children’s Home Lafia and Gata Home in Akwanga.
In each of these orphanage homes visited, Mrs. Miranda David Ombugadu donated items such as bags of rice and beans, cartons noodles, tubers of yam, salt, toiletries, slippers amongst others for the benefit of the children. She also donated cash to help in the running of the orphanage homes.
At OLA Hospital in Akwanga, Mrs. Miranda David Ombugadu and her entourage visited the pediatric ward of the hospital where she donated cash gifts to the patients. She also gave diapers and detergents to the mothers of newborn babies.
