Lafia Catholic Diocese Welcomes New Bishop

New Bishop of Lafia Catholic Diocese, Monsignor David Ajang has been received by the clergy and laity of the diocese today (June 21, 2021).
In a procession, which began from the Lafia city gate and ended at the St William’s Catholic Cathedral, the Catholic community were out in their numbers, singing songs of praises to God and thanking Him for the arrival of the new Bishop.

Movement on the popular Jos Road in Lafia was affected because of the number of persons and vehicles who were by the road and in the convoy to welcome the new Bishop.
On arrival at the St William’s Catholic Cathedral, immediate past Bishop of Lafia Diocese, who is now Archbishop of Jos Arch Diocese, Most Reverend Fr. Matthew Ishaya Audu, was on hand to receive and welcome Monsignor David Ajang.
After that, Monsignor David Ajang led the other worshippers in a benediction.

In a short speech during the benediction, the new Bishop expressed gratitude to all the clergy and laity who set aside their schedules on a Monday morning just to go and receive him.
He also appreciated those who took it upon themselves to convey him from Jos where he was to his new station.
He prayed for God to reward each of them and grant them journey mercies to their various destinations.
Monsignor David Ajang is expected to be officially ordained as the new Catholic Bishop of the Lafia Diocese by Archbishop Matthew Ishaya Audu on Thursday June 24 2021 at the St William’s Catholic Cathedral.
