-Sympathisers Besiege Residence
Citizens of Nasarawa State woke up today (Tuesday June 16, 2020) to yet another sad news of the kidnap of wife of President of Eggon Youth Movement (EYM), Comrade Daniel Yaro Anyuabaga.
According to reports, Mrs. Ruth Asheahe Daniel was taken away by heavily armed gunmen who stormed the residence of the EYM President at Ombi2, Lafia around 10pm.
Reports further disclosed that upon arrival at the gate of the EYM President’s residence, the kidnappers met with Mr Gambo Kigbu (alias Wondo Rubber), and shot at his car.
According to Mr Honey Any, the Media Aide to the EYM President, when the kidnappers did not see the EYM President who apparently was their target, they shot one of his foster sons, Ablaba on the leg, causing a serious injury to him, and took the wife away immediately.
The operation was reported to have lasted about ten minutes.
By the time the police arrived at the residence, the kidnappers had left.
Confirming the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Mr Bola Longe, the police immediately responded to the report, adding that four persons have been arrested, two Fulani and two natives with a motorcycle apparently used by the kidnappers.
Eggonnews observed that since news of the kidnap broke out, the residence of the EYM President has been besieged by sympathisers.
Among the early callers was the Nasarawa State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Joseph Masin who just recently was a kidnap victim.
As at the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Mrs Ruth Asheahe Daniel Anyuabaga was yet to be known as the kidnappers were yet to contact the family.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, while assuring that the kidnapped victim would be rescued soonest, appealed to residents of especially Nassarawa Eggon area to report any suspicious movement to the police.
