Katsina Govt gives 47 hour Ultimatum to Unrepenant Bandits
The Katsina State Government has, yesterday issued a 2-day ultimatum to unrepentant kidnappers to unconditionally release all abducted persons in their custody or face the full wrath of the law.
The Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa made the declaration while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the extraordinary meeting held between the Government, the GOC 8th Division Sokoto General Aminu Bande, the repentants and representatives of some recalcitrants among the bandits from Katsina and Zamfara States .
According to him, “Henceforth the State Government will no longer listen to or tolarate any excuse from bandits or group of bandits breaching the peace accord signed with State Government.
“This would be the last meeting that government will sit down with herdsmen to advocate for peaceful coexistence between them and the larger society.”
The SSG added that for the repentant bandits who still abide by the dictates of the accord, government would provide them with land to relocate, and there is going back as the military would soon resume its operations in full force.
The meeting was summoned by the GOC 8th Division Sokoto General Aminu Bande at the instant of the repentant herders and representatives of some recalcitrants among the notorious bandits.
