Kaduna State Government Commences Free Basic and Post-Basic Education
The government of Kaduna State has announced that henceforth basic and post-basic education levels in the state will be free of any charge.
This was contained in a letter by the Kaduna State Ministry of Education and addressed to the zonal directors, Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority.
According to the letter, from the year 2020, the government has taken measures to completely abolish ‘any form of fees in whatever name being paid by Pupils and Students in our schools.’
It went further to direct that all principals should stop collecting any forms of fees ‘with immediate effect.’
Recall that at various fora, the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufai has spoken on his administration’s resolve to ensure access to completely free basic and post-basic education for pupils and students in the State irrespective of gender, physical or socio-economic status.
