Islamic Cleric, Ustaz Umar Ibrahim Imam Passes Away

Death has been announced of a famous Islamic Cleric in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area, Ustaz Umar Ibrahim Imam.
Ustaz Umar Ibrahim Imam, who rose from being an Islamic elementary student to a Primary School Islamic Instructor and later Supervisor in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Education Authority, died today (August 27, 2020) in the morning after protracted illness.
He was aged 59.
Ustaz Ibrahim initially underwent surgery at Abnira Medical Centre aka Dr Shugaba Hospital, Behind Plateau Hospital, Jos, Plateau State and was discharged. He was however later readmitted to hospital but never recovered after long stay.
Ustaz Umar Ibrahim Imam was renowned as one of the eloquent preachers in Nassarawa Eggon, who transformed Western Mosque in Nassarawa Eggon as daily preaching centre after daybreak prayer.
According to sympathisers, he will long be missed and remembered.
As a breed of late Audu Mai Almajarai Arabic Islamic School Nassarawa Eggon and College of Education, Akwanga NCE graduate, Ustaz Ibrahim contributed immensely by propagating Islam in Nassarawa Eggon and Nassarawa State at large.
Eggonnews learnt that through most of his life, he was an active member of Jama’atul Nasrul Islam (JNI) Nassarawa Eggon Branch.
Before his demise he was the Committee Chairman, Qur’an Recitation of JNI Nassarawa Eggon, Committee Chairman JNI Property and Maintenance Nassarawa Eggon and also Imam of Western Jummuah Mosque, Nassarawa Eggon among others.
As at the time of going to press, his funeral was scheduled by 2 PM at the premises of Western Mosque (Massalacin Yanmma) before Halilu Envuluanza’s House, Ungwan Jarmai Nassarawa Eggon.
His funeral prayer is scheduled to be led by Chief Iman of Central Mosque Nassarawa Eggon Central, Shiekh Jibrin Yusuf Danladi.
Ustaz Ibrahim is survived by 4 wives, 13 children; 6 males and 7 females, and 6 grandchildren.
