IMAP Ag. Rector Restates Commitment To Supporting Host Community

The Acting Rector of the Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic (IMAP), Lafia, Dr. Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata has reaffirmed his leadership’s determination to continuously support to the host community of the institution to accelerate speedy academic and infrastructure development of the community.

This, he believes, is key to the development of any society describing it as a ‘give-and-take’, pledging total commitment to developing the community as part of the institution’s corporate social responsibility.

The Acting Rector made the disclosure during a courtesy visit to him by the Ombi Community Development Association (OCDA) at his office, Monday (October 28, 2024).

The Acting Rector said that since he assumed office, his administration has not relented in carrying the host community along as key partners in the progress envisaged by the institution.

He added that all the amenities owned by the Polytechnic are used by both the Polytechnic community and the host community, recalling that recently the Polytechnic Clinic was boosted with more health, nursing and pharmacy staff to accommodate the growing number of patients it hosts daily from the school and the residents of Ombi.

He expressed absolute concern to adding value to Ombi Community in areas such as education, water, electricity, employment, healthcare and security, commending them for their steadfastness on the reality of the moment.

Earlier, head of the delegation and Ward Head of Ombi 1, Mallam Hudu Danlami Usman, thanked the Acting Rector for his unceasing support to them, assuring him of their loyalty and attention at all times.

Speaking through the Secretary of Ombi Community Development Association, Mr. Emma Alanana Bitrus, the Ward Head, informed the Rector that through the Nasarawa State Community and Social Development Agency, projects such as toilets and boreholes would be executed at the LGEA Practising School which caters for the primary education needs of the community, soliciting for support in the areas of water supply among others.

He commended the Rector for his outstanding contributions to their growth, noting that since the coming of the Polytechnic, the community has only had it better now in corporate social responsibility.

In a vote of thanks, Registrar of the Polytechnic, Zamani Habu Ibrahim, appreciated the visitors for being partners-in-progress.

The courtesy visit had the Bursar, Zainab Dalhatu, former Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Augustine Ali Gabu and the Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Mukhtar Wakeel.
