HIFL21: What You Need To Know As University League Draws Holds On Friday

The draws for the High  Institutions Football League (HIFL) Nigeria will hold on Friday,4th of June in Lagos.

16 teams will be on the card for the round of 16 draws billed for 4pm at the Radisson Blu, Ikeja Lagos State, Nigeria.

The teams include Unical Malabites from the University of Calabar, UAM Tillers of University of Agriculture Makurdi, Unilorin Warriors of University of Ilorin and OAU Giants from the Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile-Ife.

Others are KSU Steelers of Kogi State University Anyigba, Unimaid Deserts Warriors of the University of Maiduguri, FUTMinna Transformers of Federal University of Technology Minna, ABU Nobles of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and LAUTECH Hunters representing Ladoke Akintola University of Technology,Ogbomoso.

FUTA Tigers of Federal University of Technology Akure, Uniben Royals of the University of Benin, AAUA Luminaries of Adekunle Ajasin University of Education Akungba, UNN Lions of University of Nigeria Nsukka, IAUE Minders of Ignatus Ajuru University of Education Portharcourt, Unilag Marines of University of Lagos and BUK Stallions of Bayero University Kano.

It would be recalled that the last set of qualifying matches for the round of 16 had held in April involving 25 teams that made it to the group stage of the qualifiers.

UAM Tillers of the University of Agriculture Makurdi were the winners of the maiden edition in 2018 while Unical Malabites scooped the title in 2019 season. However, the COVID19 pandemic did not allow the league to hold in 2020.
