Governor Sule Flags-off Medical Outreach In Doma

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has today (May 25 2021) flagged-off a medical outreach at Doma Local Government Area.

The medical outreach which is part of activities to mark the second anniversary of the Engineer Sule administration, is aimed at providing quality health care for the indigent members of the community.

Explaining the scope of the outreach, Nasarawa State Commissioner for Health, Pharmacist Ahmed B. Yahaya said they are targeting over 1,000 persons in each of the 13 Local Government Areas of the State including those that may require surgeries.

He said that the outreach which had begun the previous day, has attended to over 400 patients including 40 surgeries.

The Health Commissioner disclosed that one  of the women on whom surgery was performed, was delivered of twins. He said the woman would have otherwise not been able to afford it.

Pharmacist Ahmed Yahaya appreciated all the health unions in the State whom he said have been supporting the medical outreach from when it began.

The medical outreach also includes enrolment of persons to the State health insurance scheme with the Governor presenting health insurance cards to some of the enrolees.
