Governor Sule Appreciates Awe For Hosting Exiled Monarch

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has appreciated the Emir of Awe, His Royal Highness Alhaji Isa Abubakar Umar II and the entire people of Awe Local Government Area for playing host to the former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi during his exile in Nasarawa State last year.

The Governor expressed his appreciation when he paid homage to the Emir of Awe at his palace on Monday May 24, 2021 as part of activities to mark his second anniversary.

Engineer Sule said when the former Emir of Kano was banished to Nasarawa State by the Kano State Government, the Emir of Awe was able to make arrangements even though it was a very short notice.

He said: “When they were looking for who will accept to host him, we decided to receive him. When he came, initially he was going to Loko but we decided to bring him to Awe.

“He came to Awe and you received him, treated him well and he even served as your imam. He has not been able to stop talking about you ever since.”

According to the Governor, that act made Awe and Nasarawa State to be well known not just in Nigeria but the whole world.

Engineer Sule also appreciated the Emir and people of Awe for always accepting investors and visitors which he said turns out to be beneficial not just to Awe alone but the entire State.

He called on them to continue in that light and also live in peace with one another.
