Gov. Sule Commissions State-of-the-art VIP Wing At Paradise Hotel
Nasarawa State Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule has commissioned the state-of-the-art VIP wing of the Paradise Homedec Hotel in Lafia.
In an event which held on Saturday November 26, 2022 and attracted an array of guests from different walks of life, the Nasarawa State Governor expressed his pleasure that such an edifice can be found in Lafia the State capital saying it was in line with the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS).
The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe commended the proprietor and CEO of Paradise Hotel, Hon. Jonathan Markus for investing huge resources in Nasarawa State, assuring him that the State Government will continue to enact policies that will encourage businesses such as his to continue to thrive.
According to him, such businesses provide direct and indirect jobs for the populace thereby boosting the economic standing of the State. He therefore called on individuals and corporate bodies with the wherewithal to venture into such businesses so as to take off a lot of jobless youths from the streets.
Also speaking at the event, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar (Rtd), a Former Military Head of State who was the Chairman of the occasion, lauded the CEO of the hotel for the courage to invest such huge resources his home State.
General Abdulsalam Abubakar who was represented by Arch. Umar Hussaini, said anyone who knows about architecture will appreciate the amount of work that went into establishing such a structure and advised to MD of Paradise to maintain high quality services and imbibe a good maintenance culture so as to reap the benefits of his investment.
In his keynote address, Chief Gabriel Agada, the CEO of Chida Hotels, extolled the virtues of the celebrant and CEO of Paradise Hotel whom he described as an industrious and hardworking young man.
He emphasized the need for youths to learn skills saying that it was the skill mastered by Hon. Jonathan Markus that brought him the resources to establish such an edifice.
Chief Agada who has been in the hospitality business for over 30 years, commended the facilities available at Paradise Homedec International Hotel, saying they are on par with facilities in the best hotels in Nigeria.
Other persons who spoke at the event include Barr. Danladi Envulu-anza, the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism as well as that of Environment and they all felicitated with Hon. Jonathan Markus, wishing him well in his business.
On his part, Hon. Jonathan Markus the MD/CEO of Paradise Homedec International Hotel, said the facility was incorporated as a hospitality industry in 2016 and started operation same year.
He said: “In 2016 we started operation with 16 rooms, added 11 rooms in 2019 and today we commissioned VIP Wing with 30 rooms with a restaurant, swimming pool and an exclusive bar.
“We started with 10 staff in 2016, but today we have 50 staff in our payroll,” the CEO added.
He therefore, appealed to the government to implement hospitality friendly programs to enable the business to thrive and contribute to the development of the State.
The inauguration was attended by family, friends and business associates of the Chief Executive Officer of the hotel.
