Gombe Is Hub Of Talent – Gov. Yahaya

The Executive Governor of Gombe State, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya has described his State as a hub of talents.

This he said when he paid a surprise visit to the Mailantarki Scouting program in the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.

The Pantami Stadium Gombe has been a beehive of activities as former House of Representatives Member, Hon. Khamis Mailantarki organized a scouting program tagged ‘Gombe to Europe’, to fish out talent from Gombe and other neighboring States.

The scouting program which was organized in conjunction with with Ude Sports Agency, Lagos brought in Mr Basil Kabbani, Andy Baker and five others from the two Manchester clubs for a week long activities.

The State Governor who arrived the venue of the event was full excitement as he showered accolades on Mailantarki whose initiative brought in such international scouts into the State for the first time with technology that has never before been used in the North Eastern region of Nigeria.

The Governor also gave assurance of government’s support to such programs as according to him, Gombe State can boast of tremendous talents scattered all over the State.

Mr Kabbani who is the head of the foreign scouts expressed his joy over the hospitality they got from the first day of their arrival describing Gombe State as a peaceful State contrary to some reports in the media.

Mr. Kabbani concurred with the Governor that the State and indeed the entire region are blessed with enormous talent and if well harnessed will boost the State’s.

The scouting program tagged ‘Gombe to Europe’ commenced on Sunday 25th October and came to a successful end on Thursday 28th October, 2021 with the best of talent selected across.

Clubs and academies from the Northern part of the country were all in attendance including FC Basira from Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
