The Federal Government has on Monday (August 17, 2020) announced the resumption of international flights.

The announcement was made by Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika via his official Twitter handle.

In the text he posted, the Aviation Minister said: “Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020. Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption. Protocols and procedures will be announced in due course. We thank you for your patience.”

Recall that the operation of flights in Nigeria was halted as a result of the COVID19 pandemic.

Local flights had however resumed in July.

This latest development is a step further towards removing the restrictions that had to be put in place to stem the spread of the coronavirus in the country.

The Federal Government had reopened schools fo students seating for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and they wrote their first paper on Monday.

Other levels in the schools are still close along with sporting events and some others.
