FC Basira Founder, Salisu Galadima Emerges New Nasarawa FA Chair

The founder of Lafia-based FC Basira, Usman Salisu Galadima has emerged as the new Chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association (FA).

Galadima who is popularly known by his moniker ‘Basira’, scored 12 votes out of a possible 18 votes to emerge as winner in the Nasarawa FA election which held on Saturday November 4, 2023 in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

He defeated his only opponent, Haliru Ibrahim who got four (4) votes while two votes were recorded as invalid.

In his speech after the election, the newly elected Nasarawa FA Chairman Salisu Galadima Usman, promised to work for the betterment and growth of football in Nasarawa State.

Similarly, Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta from Keffi Zone emerged Vice Chairman of the Nasarawa FA following the disqualification of his opponent Hamisu Ali Zanwa who is from Lafia Zone where the new Chairman hails from.

Also, two each from Lafia and Keffi Zones were elected as board members while Akwanga Zone has three representatives on the grounds that it produced neither the Chairman nor Vice Chairman of the association.
