ERCC President Announces Church 2020 Theme
The President of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) has announced the church’s theme for the Year 2020.
Speaking during Christmas Day service at the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) Gloryland Lafia, the ERCC President, Very Reverend Dave Denji revealed that the ERCC theme for next year will be ‘Godliness With Contentment’.
The ERCC President said the theme, which was taken from 1 Timothy 6:6, was prayerfully decided on after a meeting at the ERCC Headquarters in Alushi on Christmas Eve.
Earlier on in a sermon, Mr. Pius Chuntan charged Christians not to be carried away with diverse teachings and practices that will lead them astray.
According to him, even though it is good to celebrate, there is a need for Christians to reflect on the true significance of Christmas. This he said, will make Christmas have meaning and impact in the lives of Christians as they celebrate.
Mr. Pius Chuntan said it is very important that Christians remember that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and rescue man from sin. He therefore charged Christians not to despise the significance of Christmas by engaging in immoral activities or placing too much value on worthless things.
There were renditions of songs by various groups in the church prominent among which is a group of girls who worshipped God with their beautiful voices to the awe of the entire congregation.
