Emir Of Lafia, Sheikh Kabiru Gombe, Others Inaugurate ‘Masjid Aisha’ In Nassarawa Eggon

The Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd) has inaugurated the Masjid Aisha, a magnificent mosque in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Performing the ceremony on Friday (March 1, 2024) alongside a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Kabiru Haruna Gombe, the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (Rtd), the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah Onawo and other distinguished personalities, the Emir of Lafia specially commended the financier of the project, Hajiya Aisha Isiyaku Abdullahi.

He said: “There is not much we can say because we know the good works of this family. We know how much Alhaji Isiyaku Abdullahi the Magajin Garin Nassarawa Eggon has done to meet some very important needs in the society and to promote Islam.

“Our prayer for this family is that God should open more doors for them and bless them so they can do more for our society and our religion.”

The Aren Eggon who was the Chief Host in his welcome remarks, appreciated all the guests who found time to converge in Nassarawa Eggon to celebrate the inauguration of “one of the largest and most beautiful masjids in Nassarawa Eggon”.

The Aren Eggon described the masjid as “not just a place of worship, but also a center of learning, social service and community development. It will offer various programs and activities for the spiritual, educational and moral upliftment of the Muslims and the society at large. It will also serve as a bridge of understanding and cooperation between the Muslims and other faith groups in the area.”

He thanked the sponsor, Hajiya Aisha Isiyaku Abdullahi for her show of generosity and devotion to Allah (SWT) and His house.

In his lecture at the event on ‘The Role of Women in Islam’, Sheikh Kabiru Haruna Gombe described women as very important entities in Islam saying that a man’s wives and/or daughters are key to his entry into Jannah.

He also encouraged women to be entrepreneurial so as not to be a liability to their husbands. He described as disheartening, situations where families crumble simply because the husband can no longer provide either as a result of death, illness or any other misfortune.

He urged women to emulate the sponsor of the Masjid Aisha, Hajiya Aisha Isiyaku Abdullahi who was able to finance such a project because she was not totally dependent on her husband but engaged in business ventures.

On her part, the sponsor of the project, Hajiya Aisha Isiyaku Abdullahi who spoke through Hajiya Hauwa Abdullahi, appreciated all who honored her invitation and prayed for Muslim women especially, that God should give them the resources and wisdom to do even more than what she had done.

She also prayed that God should continue to bless her family with wealth that will be for the benefit of the society at large.

Masjid Aisha

The Masjid Aisha is located at Ungwan Matasa in Nassarawa Eggon and with the capacity to accommodate thousands of worshippers. The name draws inspiration from Masjid Aisha in Makkah, which holds a special place in Islamic history. The mosque has dedicated spaces for female worshippers as well as a library among other modern facilities.

Masjid Aisha will be under the spiritual guidance of Imam Nasiru Al-Kasim and Hafiz Umar Rabiu. It will however be under the management of the Islamic Society of Eggonland (ISE) led by its General Secretary, Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Galle.
