Eid-El-Fitir: Al-Makura Urges Constituents To Demonstrate Understanding And Tolerance Towards One Another
The Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has called on his constituents to always demonstrate understanding and tolerance towards one another.
This was part of his special Eid-El-Fitir message to his constituents which was made available to the press.
In his message, Senator Al-Makura congratulated all Muslims on their successful completion of the mandatory 30 days of fasting, while calling on them not to forget the values and lessons acquired in the course of the holy month of Ramadan.
He said: “Ramadan fasting teaches us the values of love, justice, equity and unity among other cherished virtues.
“As the Holy Month of Ramadan comes to an end, Muslim faithful should assess their conduct and align their behaviors to the teachings of Islam.
“As a result of the lesson which was bequeathed to us through Ramadan fasting, we are expected to continue to demonstrate understanding and tolerance towards one another and show compassion to those in need.
“This special occasion of Ed-El-Fitir, therefore affords us the opportunity to make sober reflection and assessment of our conduct as true followers of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon Him).”
Senator Al-Makura then solicited prayers from all his supporters and well-wishers which according to him, will enable him translate the mandate given to him into true and fair representation.
He also used the opportunity to drum up support for the APC-led administrations at the Federal and State levels so that President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Sule can deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
