Dr Kigbu Receives Royal Blessings From Aren Eggon
Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu has received royal blessings from the paramount ruler of the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (Rtd).
The paramount ruler of the Eggon people worldwide and Chairman, Nassarawa Eggon Council of Chiefs, blessed Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu when the latter paid homage to the royal father at his palace in Nasarawa Eggon today (June 14, 2025).
Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu who was once a legislator representing Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, was recently appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Federal Commissioner representing Nasarawa State at the National Population Commission (NPC).
In his remarks, Dr. Kigbu said he was at the palace of the Aren Eggon to formally inform the royal father of his appointment and also seek royal blessings for his political aspirations.
He spoke about his vision for Nasarawa State explaining that his aspiration to become Governor is born out of his experience working in almost all the communities in the State and understanding the needs and desires of the citizens.
He said: “Your Highness, in my sojourn, I have worked with the rich and the poor. And many times I have asked the rich to give so that we can help the less privileged. Severally, I have also talked to the poor and urged them not to remain stunted but to work hard so that they too can make contributions for the betterment of the society. I want to be that vanguard for the better society in Nasarawa State.
“Having worked with the various shades of people in our community, especially in our State, God has brought us different ethnic groups together. Having interacted with them, I have understood their differences, I want to be that Governor that will harness and bring those differences together for genuine and rapid development in Nasarawa State.”
He called for prayers from the royal father and the continuous support from the people.
In his response, the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku expressed his pleasure with the actions of the former legislator describing him as a true son of the soil.
He appreciated President Tinubu for appointing Dr Kigbu as a Federal Commissioner at NPC and urged Dr. Kigbu to be a good ambassador of the Eggon people and discharge his responsibilities to the best of his ability as he is known to do.
The Aren Eggon blessed Dr Kigbu and wished him well in all his endeavors.
Also present at the palace were the Aren Eggon Erro, Alhaji Usman Hudu Makeri and the Aren Koron Kuje, Hon. Joseph Sunday Namo (JP).
Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu was accompanied by many political leaders from the southern senatorial zone of Nasarawa State including former Chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, Hon. Ali Kpandam, former Deputy Chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Comfort Attah, Commodore Hassan Dogara (Rtd), MWO Chief Ayuba Akyen, A. A. Ashangwa and many others.
Highlights of the event was the presentation of a horse to the Aren Eggon by Dr. Kigbu.
