Doma LG Chair Unveils ‘First Of Its Kind’ Council’s Compendium 2024
The Chairman of Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Hon. (Arch) Ahmad Sarki Usman has unveiled a book which is a compendium containing vital information about the Local Government Area.
The book titled “2024 Doma LG Compendium” which is the first of its kind ever produced in the area, has about 200 pages containing among other things, the origin and history of Doma LGA, the pre-colonial and post-colonial era, the traditional, administrative and political journey of the people.
The Compendium has in it names and pictures of elected and appointed Chairmen of Doma LGA as well as the Directors of Personnel Managements (DPMs) from creation to date.
It also has in it chronology of Andoma’s of Doma capturing names and pictures of traditional rulers in the area.
It also includes both Doma Local Government Area and Ekye Development Area with their first class, second class and third class traditional rulers respectively.
The book captured in it all the 10 electoral wards in Doma LGA and their councilors as well as the Two State Assembly Constituencies, Doma North and Doma South respectively with Hon. members that represented the constituencies at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly from inception to date.
The document equally contained in it names and pictures of Hon. Commissioners from Doma LGA that served in the State executive council from creation to date.
The material equally captured in it names and pictures of prominent sons and daughters of Doma LGA that hold key Government positions both at the State, National and International levels.
Also in it are names and pictures of Permanent Secretaries from Doma, Heads of Service and other higher and lower office holders.
It also captured those who hold elected positions including at the National Assembly and the State Assembly right from the then Plateau State as well as Doma Local Government Legislators and Supervisory Councilors among others.
The 2024 Compendium of Doma Local Government also has in it an overview of the area, set lights in the area, institutions, natural deposits, economic potentials among others.
The Document also has in it the traditional kingmakers of Doma traditional council.
Equally, it has vital informations about the Olarm Rice farm in Rukubi, Doma Local Government and the Doma 7.5 MVA Power Injection Substation as well as the popular Odu Festival among other vital pieces of informations regards to Doma LGA are effectively captured in the 2024 Compendium.
The Compendium gave an insight into the traditional installation of an Andoma and some of the traditional functions in Doma Local Government Area.
The ALAGO speaking tribe among the 527 major languages spoken in Nigeria was also captured as well as the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria.
The Compendium also highlighted some legacy projects of the local authorities.
Finally, the 2024 Compendium of Doma Local Government Area produced by Hon (Arc) Ahmad Sarki Usman, the Executive Chairman of the area also captured other internal and external vital pieces of informations.
