Danladi Jatau Emerges As Nasarawa Assembly Speaker
Honourable Danladi Jatau has emerged the new Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA).
Honourable Danladi Jatau who is of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is representing Kokona West emerged after an election by the House Members to get a new Speaker following the Appeal Court judgment of Tuesday (November 28, 2023) which ousted Rt. Honourable Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi.
In the same vein, Honourable Mohammed Adamu Oyanki (PDP/Doma North) has emerged the new Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly. He replaces Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala (PDP/Nassarawa Eggon West).
Reports from sources within the House of Assembly indicate that the APC caucus in the House had earlier in a meeting at the Government House, agreed on Danladi Jatau as the new Speaker despite interests from other possible candidates such as Hajara Danyaro, Daniel Ogazi amongst others.
This development comes even as Governor Abdullahi Sule is expected to present the 2024 appropriation bill before the House tomorrow (Friday December 1, 2023).
