COVID19: Nasarawa State records index case
Nasarawa State has recorded its first confirmed case of COVID19.
This was announced by Governor Abdullahi Sule at a press briefing Tuesday (April 28, 2020) morning at the Nasarawa State Government House in Lafia.
Governor Sule said “It is sad to announce that Nasarawa has recorded the first case from this lady that travelled from Kano to Kokona local government area of the state.
“We already evacuated the lady from Kokona to Lafia where we have better facilities to take care of her.”
The Governor also disclosed that members of the patient’s family that may have had contact with her have been isolated and will be tested to ascertain their status.
As at 11:20pm on Monday April 27 2020, the number of COVID19 cases according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) stood at 1337. This figure however did not include that of Nasarawa State.
