Court Restrains Abuluya From Being Sworn In As ECDA President
The High Court of Justice, Lafia, has issued an order restraining David M. Abuluya from being sworn in as President of the Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA).
Recall that on Saturday November 27th, 2021, there was an election for the new leaders of the Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) wherein Mr David M. Abuluya was declared elected as President alongside others.
Others elected included Haruna Mohammed Arugbadu – Vice President, Mr. Chris Allu – General Secretary, Mr. John Barnabas Anva – Assistant General Secretary and Mr. Haruna Adigizi John – Financial Secretary.
Also elected are Mr. Ewuga Godwin Bala – Treasurer, Barnabas Doma Maga – Social and Cultural Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Edro Akwanga – Auditor, Mr. Yuga Alluhu Bitrus – Provost Marshal and Comrade Umar Abdullahi Galle – PRO.
Arrangements have reached advance stages for the inauguration of the new EXCO scheduled for Friday 11th December, 2021 at the Palace of the Aren Eggon, Nassarawa Eggon.
However, one of the Presidential candidates, Hon Enoch Ali Maku has approached the High Court and obtained a Motion Exparte supported by a 34-pargraph affidavit to which he deposed.
The Suit No. NSD/MG 116/MI/2021 has Enoch Ali Maku as Plaintiff/Applicant while David M. Abuluya (President Elect, ECDA), Danladi Suleiman Gyabo (Chairman, ELCOM ECDA), Barr Ayuba Ezekiel Enjugu (Secretary, ELCOM ECDA), Akolo A. Anzaku (Member, 2021 ELCOM), Allan Tsaku (Member, 2021 ELCOM), Andrew Amos (Member, 2021 ELCOM) and Wilberforce Alaku (Outgoing President, ECA) as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Defendants/Respondents respectively.
The High Court presided over by Hon Justice S. O. Aboki ordered thus:
An Order of Court restraining the 1st Defendant/Respondent or anybody acting under him from presenting himself for the purpose of swearing in as the elected President of Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) on 11th December, 2021 or any date at all pending the determination of the motion for interlocutory injunction filed before the Court.
An Order restrained the 2nd to 6th Defendants/Respondents from presenting or swearing in the 1st Defendant as the elected President of ECDA on the 11th December, 2021 or any date at all pending the determination of the motion for interlocutory injunction filed before the Court.
An Order restraining the 7th Defendant/Respondent from handing over to the 1st Defendant/Respondent s the elected President of ECDA at any time pending the determination of the motion for interlocutory injunction filed before the Court.
Hearing on the interlocutory motion on notice will hold on Monday 13the December, 2021.
